I wasn't expecting to like Gdansk. I remember seeing the Solidarity riots at the shipyards on tv in the early 80s and place looked grim. Boy was I gobsmacked when I got there. The old town is a delight - very well maintained with beautiful guild houses and town houses and a beautiful old town hall which now serves as the museum of the city of Gdansk. Just outside is the stunningly beautiful Long Market. There are some find buildings along the waterfront as well (and lots of amber shops) and the Gdansk crane - an amazing crane built in the 1400s. I was staying in nearby Sopot, so didn't manage to spend a night in Gdansk, which is a pity because I'd say it's a lovely city at night. Certainly worth a long weekend!close

Batiful place, I don't really know why it is not more famous, it's probably underestimated by travellers that never been there. Lovely place, It was much more of what I expected. Definitly a must go if you are close.close

    Great accommodation with a terrific view. Very close distances to any location in the city centre. Nice English speaking owner. We enjoyed it very much - absolutely recommendable!

    Very serviceminded landlords! The apartement was very clean and of a good modern standard. We liked the location in the very old town. This is a place that we will recommend to friends and a place we love to go back to. A few details: it would be good if the kitchen have more wineglasses, hooks...

    A wonderfully presented, clean, well located apartment. The landlord is happy to help with any queries etc (plus he's english so there's no language barrier or anything like that.) The city of Gdansk is amazing too. Well worth a visit, and I would definately return to the city (and apartment!!)...

    place was clean and staff where friendly. was a short walk from centre but really wasnt a problem. cool place, would stay here again. they dont have lockers.

    Very clean, very friendly staff, great breakfast until 10. I had to stay close to the "Gdansk Morena" area for business. For toursim the location is not so useful. The B&B is about 30 minutes on foot from Old Town. You can always take a bus or taxi, though.

    The son of the owner who is present Monday - Fri is very helpful, in the know of every question a tourist could possibly ask. The hostel may not be in the centre but it right next to a great Jazz bar, surrounded by small shops and a McDs is just across the road in case of emergencies.
